In a strongly worded statement, Dr. Ezekiel ThankGod, CEO of EeZee Conceptz, has addressed the escalating dispute with renowned gospel artist Mercy Chinwo, detailing allegations of contractual breaches and attempts to discredit his label.

The controversy centers around claims that Chinwo is seeking control of her music catalogue without fulfilling her contractual commitments. According to Dr. ThankGod, the artist has received over $625,000 from EeZee Conceptz but failed to deliver a promised third album and withheld funds owed to the label from content revenue and events.

“She has benefited immensely from EeZee Conceptz but now chooses to twist the narrative, painting herself as a victim,” Dr. ThankGod stated. “Despite receiving over $635,000, she is attempting to claim ownership of works she did not financially contribute to.”

The label head also accused Chinwo of leveraging her influence to manipulate institutions, including law enforcement and religious organizations, to gain an upper hand in the dispute. “It’s disheartening to see efforts to weaponize law enforcement and religious affiliations against me,” he said.

Dr. ThankGod revealed that he had invested significantly in Chinwo’s career, providing her with housing, financial support, and opportunities that propelled her into the spotlight. “I treated her like a sister and gave her a platform beyond her wildest dreams,” he added.

Amid the accusations, Dr. ThankGod emphasized his commitment to resolving the matter legally and transparently. He called for an independent audit to verify claims from both parties and urged Chinwo to publish her bank statements and records of songs produced before and after signing with EeZee Conceptz.

The CEO also recounted personal setbacks during the dispute, including being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under what he described as “manipulated circumstances.” He alleged that $274,000 was extorted from him during the ordeal, but he refrained from publicizing the matter until now.

“Despite the challenges, I chose to follow the legal processes outlined in our contract. I remain committed to seeking justice and restoring peace,” Dr. ThankGod said.

The full statement reflects Dr. ThankGod’s sense of betrayal and disappointment:

“I invested my blood, sweat, and hard-earned money into you. You breached our contract by failing to deliver a third album and withholding funds. Yet, I extended opportunities for reconciliation and transparency. I will continue to act lawfully, trusting the legal system and God to defend my reputation.”

As the legal battle unfolds, the gospel music community watches closely, with many expressing hope for an amicable resolution. Dr. ThankGod concluded his statement with gratitude for the prayers and support he has received, reiterating his trust in truth and justice.
