On Tuesday, more than seven bishops led a protest to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) office in Asaba, Delta State.
The protesters, from Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry and other Christian groups, called on NAFDAC to stop its actions against Senior Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin over his spiritual products. Despite heavy rain, they displayed placards with messages like “Spiritual products have spiritual backing, don’t need NAFDAC approval.”

Speaking on behalf of the group, Archbishop Samuel Baaba of the Charismatic Anglican Church of Nigeria cautioned NAFDAC to respect spiritual matters, stating that the agency has no authority to regulate spiritual products. He emphasized the importance of faith and urged NAFDAC to refrain from overstepping its bounds.

Rector of Union Theological Institute, Calixtus, and Most Celestine Ewurum added that NAFDAC had no right to declare spiritual products fake without proper testing. They demanded clarity on the agency’s stance, particularly regarding water products from the ministry.

Earlier, NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, warned the public about Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry’s unregistered spiritual products, including “Miracle & Healing Water” and “River Jordan Water.” She urged Nigerians to avoid purchasing these items.
